What do you think?

The November Basin Pulse Headlines Report 2010 found that 75% of the Murray-Darling Basin community remains in favour of changes to water allocations to increase water to the natural environment.

A significant shift since the initial June survey is in perceptions of responsibility. Twice as many people (46%) now believe that primary responsibility for action on water management rests with the ‘whole community’.

Do you agree? What needs to change? How does water management in your community involve you?

Get involved and tell us what you think…

Who is responsible for water management?
ask the right question and you will get your answer
ask do you think the MDBA stuffed up the consultation process
mmmm. I think the poll would read 99.9%
Ask do you think this is all about politics not the environment
mmm. I think you know the answer .
Ask do you think this is all about the green vote and not what is right . Poll the country people who are effected .I know the answer already . Polls are only as good as the question you are asking and who depending on what result you want .I didnt have to go to uni to know that.

If you dont tell the whole truth is that a lie
POLL OR NO POLL people in the city are miss informed about whats happening in the country .Farmers dont go to work everyday and think lets destroy the environment and our future today .We are no different to anyone else ,we work to support our familys and make a good life just like everyone else .We have just come out of ten years of drought ,thats why the rivers stopped flowing. The government doesnt care about nation building or inferstructure ( unless its privatised) They are only pandering to the green vote to just get to the next election . People in the city are lied to and dont realize it. Anyone in the country knows whats going on .Why isnt the truth told . Promises and lies ,Australia deserves beter than the pollies we have. Is this the best 20 million people can produce. IF you live inland you know all about no money spent on inferstructure run down schools and hospitabals ,Roads not maintained ,our natinal highway passing by this region has just had the speed limit dropped ,because that is easier than fixing it .
Please whenever you want to hear the truth come and speak to people in the country ,not the polliticians

Water Security for the Whole Eastern Seaboard
I still am at a loss why we are not filling every possible storage with the current flood waters. e.g. Burrinjuck is overflowing and we sure have plenty going down the Basin at the moment. Eucumbene is around 30% so shy not shift some back up to the top of the whole Authority Storage. Wivenhoe is spewing gigalitres at the moment why can we not shift some down the coast to other storage facilities. If we connected the whole lot we could ensure security for Eastern Seaboard Population and from these storage points feed the Murray Darling Basin as well.
Please cost is not an argument - the cost of peoples livelihoods and loss of production from the Basin is not just measured in dollars.

Change needed
Unless the overall health of the river systems are significantly improved, there is a limited future for the irrigation industries anyhow.
