Report Program

Understanding this environment requires real time insights and information on trends.

The Basin Pulse research program includes detailed reports on industry and community issues.

Headline Reports

Headline reports track the big issues and broader perspectives of people in the Basin. The first report is available to download now and provides a sample of the headlines approach.

Later reports will draw information from industry and community research to provide a snapshot of the issues that matter over time.

Industry Insights

The Basin economy is experiencing major transitions. Some are long term as industries rise and decline and others are short term disruptions related to market or other issues. These changes shape life in the Basin and drive government and corporate strategy.

Industry insight reports will examine issues in the Basin’s major foundational industry’s including agriculture, mining, trade, transport and retail.

Through in-depth discussions, quantitative surveys and on-line interactions, the research will provide unparalled insight into Basin industries.

Industry insights will be produced bi-annually to track trends and examine issues with the first report due in September-October 2010.

Community Perspectives

The Basin community is facing large changes over the coming years.

Big shifts are occurring in the region's key industries and this will affect many people in the local community. People are moving and communities are changing rapidly. Some are getting bigger, while others are shrinking or ceasing to exist all together.

The environment is also under pressure from climate change, lack of water and species losses.

Community perspectives reports will examine perspectives and trends in community opinion about major changes in the Basin.

The research will be driven by what Basin Pulse Headline Reports have already identified as areas that are important to the Basin community – water management, economic development and high quality social and economic environments.

Through in-depth discussions, quantitative surveys and on-line interactions, the research will provide unparalled insight into what the community is thinking about key changes.

Community perspectives research will be produced bi-annually to track trends and examine issues. The first report will be available later in the year.
